Kingston wanted to make something special for Easter to give to the special women in his life. So, I came up with the idea to make chicks to represent his very favorite chicks. We have been making a lot of print crafts recently, and I wanted Kingston to be able to participate a little bit more in these gifts to make them super special for his ladies. I decided to have him fingerpaint. I put him in his highchair and taped a piece of white cardstock down. Then I poured some yellow paint on the paper (he is super into watching me pour the paint.. he reaches for it and watches it drip from the bottle to the paper.. he thinks it's fascinating which I find hilarious!) and let him make his masterpiece.
This is his "Mama I'm teething" face:
He painted pieces of cardstock yellow. After he finished, I let the paintings dry. Then, I took a roll of masking tape and traced four outer circles and four smaller, inner circles. After cutting them out, I glued a large circle and a small circle on a piece of white cardstock. I glued googly eyes on each circle, added orange marker beaks and feet, and a feather for each baby chick and grownup chick. Then I wrote a little message to the recipient. I had to make four of them, and the two paintings had just enough space for the exact amount I needed.
I really like the way they came out.
Next up, I will share what Kingston made for Dada and Grumpy!
Awww, this is so darling. Love the "chicks for his favorite chicks"! So, was it a surprise to them? :) Thanks for sharing at Stress-Free Sunday at Fun-A-Day!
