I can't believe an entire month has passed by so quickly again! Before April passes by just as fast, I wanted to share our March favorites!! Our Mommy and Baby favorites will mostly consist of Kingston's monthly favorites and my favorite things for him. Generally I use the same products, do the same activities, and watch the same things every month. However, here and there I may share some things that I'm currently liking!
I will start with Kingston's favorite toys and books this month!
Skip Hop Hug and Hide Activity Toy, Owl
- Kingston's Aunta bought this owl for him for Christmas. It is a sensory toy with a bunch of different teethers and activities built into it. It has a mama and baby owl with a squeaker and bell inside, a mirror, crinkly wings, a wooden teether, a nubby leaf teether, pockets, and different textures. Plus it is just plain cute! Kingston has been really into his owl this month. He loves hugging it and chomping on the wings. His favorite thing is when I "fly" the owl towards him and he can hear the bell ring. We love this toy and would definitely recommend it. It is a stuffed animal with a much bigger purpose and is very entertaining!
That's Not My Monster (Touchy-Feely Board Books)
- We have a bunch of these titles. I know I've mentioned them countless times before, but they are such a hit in our house! We were first gifted a bunch from our friend Erin whose girls had outgrown them. Ever since, I've been picking up as many titles as I can find at the Used Book Superstore whenever there is a sale. These were the very first books that Kingston fell in love with way back when and they are still his favorites to this day. He knows exactly what and where to touch and enjoys feeling all of the different textures. These books are purely for sensory because the wording is pretty lacking. They do use some interesting adjectives though, some of which I question their existence in the English language! Regardless, we LOVE these books!
Sprig Cone Stacker
Okay, so this little gem was Kingston's gift from us for St. Patrick's Day. Holy moly! He is obsessed with it!! I'm kind of obsessed with it as well. I mentioned it in detail in our
St. Patrick's Day post, but it is AWESOME! It smells faintly of sawdust because it is a composite of recycled plastic and reclaimed sawdust. I love that smell. It reminds me of my childhood and Kingston's Grumpy who is a contractor. I cannot stack this fast enough before K tries to tear it down. This goes on forever. He will literally watch me build it, tear it down, and gnaw on each and every piece. It is awesome for teaching colors, shapes, and size order!
Teethers - My sweet boy is teething like crazy. I can see his bottom two teeth and his top two teeth through his gums waiting to make an appearance! This was a hard month for teething, so these teethers were a necessity! He loves each and everyone of them. The
RaZberry Teether - Blue
is awesome! I stick it in the freezer and he gnaws on it. It's funny because he has never taken a pacifier, but he loves chewing on this. I put the clear ring in the freezer and the
Sassy Water-Filled Teether Toy, Football and Peace Sign
in the refrigerator and he loves chewing on those as well. I love the football one because it has a little handle that he can hold onto. These two teethers also have multiple textures to soothe his aching gums.
Two favorites that I have for K this month is this precious blue v-neck sweater from The Children's Place, and these little man loafers that I purchased at Babies R Us the day we found out he was a boy! Blue is definitely his color, and the shoes he has worn on multiple occasions. He is currently still in a size 2 in most shoes. I love dressing him up like a little man. Boys clothes can be just as cute as girls! It just takes a little bit more effort to find cute items!
California Baby Calendula Cream (4oz)
- This stuff is like GOLD in our house! In fact, this could make the favorites list every single month since Kingston was born. It is quite pricey, but it is a definite must have for us! I have been using it pretty much daily for the past 6 months and there is barely even a dent in it. A little goes a really long way. Kingston had a severe case of baby acne when he was a couple months old and this cream cleared it right up. He gets chin rashes from drooling so much - this cream clears it right up. Dry skin - clears it right up. Scratches from crazy little baby nails - gone within the hour! I even use it on myself sometimes. It is a miracle in a jar. I should buy stock in it. I am hooked! RUN don't walk to the store and buy a jar for your baby.
Baltic Amber Teething Necklace - I purchased this necklace before K was born. I researched it a lot and wanted to try it. I bought mine off of Etsy, but teething necklaces can also be purchased on Amazon -
The Art of CureTM Baltic Amber Baby Teething Necklace - Honey w/"THE ART OF CURE" Jewelry Pouch
.It is raw amber. My only qualm about is, is that the beads are not rounded and it leaves marks on him. I love it though because it is maximum strength and really seems to work! I only put it on him when he sitting up playing or when I am constantly monitoring him because babies and necklaces make me nervous!
Sassy Developmental Bath Toy, Pop and Pour Pals
- I started giving K toys in the bath tub this month and he took to these pop and pour beads right away! He loves them out of the bath tub as well. They have different textures and make fun noises when you blow into them. He likes them a lot!
Krull - Kingston is obsessed with our chihuahua Krull the Warrior King. We have had Krull for 8 years. He stayed away from K from the first few months of his life, and now they are inseparable. I swear they play together almost ALL day! It is so precious to watch. K even started saying "Papa" for puppy every time he comes near him and waves at him! It is so sweet.
Waving, standing, and walking are K's favorite past times! He waves at everybody and everything he sees. He now stands holding onto furniture and he loves walking (and now running) around the house holding onto an adults hands. I will post more about this when I update on his development this month! My little boy is so smart and strong. I am so proud of all he has accomplished in the short amount of time he has been here!
Other favorites this month: Apples & Carrots, You'll Always Be My Baby by Sara Evans (the last verse is our current lullaby) and the exersaucer!
I found your blog on Pinterest and love it! My baby was born in September too and it's so fun to see all that you do with Kingston. Keep it coming, this is good stuff!!
ReplyDeleteThis just made my whole week! Thank you so much!! :)
DeleteI've used Baltic Amber teething necklaces for both of my babies and loved them! Your little man is so cute! Stopping by from Six Sisters :)

Thanks Andrea! Good to hear positive reviews on the necklaces. We are having a heck of a time with teething so anything that remotely seems to help is quickly becoming my new best friend!
DeleteThis post makes me somewhat sad -- that I haven't been as focused on my daughter as I was with my son, my first. I know she will be blessed to have her older sibling, but it's so hard to divide my time. Fun idea and list :)
ReplyDeleteDon't be sad Amy! I was just on your blog last night looking at the fun sensory bin you did with your daughter! I can imagine how much harder it is to split time between two kids!! One child is always so much easier to focus on! They will both grow up to be happy, brilliant, sweet children and it won't matter the quantity of activities you did with each, just the quality!! :)
DeleteThat cone stacker toy is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Maryanne! It is such a versatile toy! :)
DeleteAwww, it's so cute that we'll get to see how his faves change each month. We love the Usborne books, too! My kiddo still reads through them with me, and the little ones I babysit always get a kick out of them. Thanks for sharing this at Stress-Free Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThey are such fun books! And I'm excited to look back at all of faves a few years from now or when we have our next child! It will be really fun to see the differences!
DeleteI love the owl toy - my little T would love that she's owl mad.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up to Tuesday Tots and just letting you know that I'm featuring this over on Rainy Day Mum this week.
We love owls too! I recommend it 100%! It's a great toy. Thank you so much for featuring me!
