Baby Snuggles

Now that Kingston is on the move, he is so much more independent! Crawling makes Kingston tired. New found independence makes Kingston seem to miss us more when he is off exploring (even though he is never out of eyesight!). Combined together, this new chapter is making our baby a super cuddle bug. We LOVE it!

K seems like such a big kid now. When he is tired, he sometimes lays his head down on the boppy, snuggles against our necks, or hunkers down for a nice cuddle. We are super big cuddlers over here, so this is such a happy addition to our days. I love snuggling in next to my big man and my little man for some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or a quick nap.

When I first had Kingston, I use to let him nap on me. I would sit on the couch with him for hours at a time, my butt completely asleep, my arms completely cramped, and just stare at him trying to absorb the amazing fact that I was now a mom and trying to soak up every detail of him. Now that he is older and actually sleeps and naps in his crib, I miss those naps on me. Lately, I can't help keeping him with me for some naps just so that I can look at him. He is so beautiful. When he is sleeping, he looks like an angel. I want to plaster this image of him into my mind.

I want to soak up his delicious baby smell, run my fingers through his sweet head of hair, and kiss his soft, chubby cheeks. He is just scrumptious!

I love when he lays in our arms and spaces out. It is so rare that he is still nowadays, that the magical moments we have to just relax together are pure bliss. Soon our little man will be off and running. For now, I want to take a step back and appreciate this transition stage. He is mobile, but still a baby. Still our sweet, cuddly baby boy. He fits so perfectly in our arms.

I love you my sweet cuddlebug!

  1. I want to squeeze those little cheeks, too! This is really sweet and makes me want to wake Kz up right now to hug him (but then he'd be awake during mommy time... haha).

  2. I can seriously feel the cuddles through the screen, he is sooo sweet. My little guy is on the move too, it sure does add an element to his personality to see what he goes after and what keeps his attention long enough for him to be still. I hope he gets to read this when he gets older! :)

    1. Aww thanks Laura Lynn! It is definitely something to watch them on the move! My little one loves getting into trouble. He will go up to something he specifically knows he shouldn't touch and stick his hand out, waiting for your reaction. Then if you say no, he will touch it and laugh. Secretly, I think this is the funniest thing ever! :)

  3. Such a sweet baby! The baby nostalgia really hits home for me, my lil man is 9 months old and starting to crawl around and play independently. Sometimes I'll just watch him as he sleeps, marveling at how much he has grown!

    1. Aww thank you Mari! I do the same thing! They are such wonderful little miracles. My little guy will be 9 months next week and he is a lightning speed crawler. It blows my mind to think that just a handful of months ago, he was my little drooling completely non-mobile babe. He seems so big now! Enjoy every moment with your little one! :)
