Toddler Halloween Basket

We love the holidays over here, and Halloween is no exception. The fun fall festivities, dressing up, spooky movies, and candy.. what's not to love! I always like to make Kingston a little something to celebrate the holidays, generally that something will include holiday themed books, a holiday themed outfit of some sort, and some other little goodies. Some of the baskets we've done in the past were for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, 4th of July, and 1st Birthday. So naturally, I had to make him a Halloween basket!

And last but, not least:
THE SNUGGLIEST LION COSTUME EVER!

Kingston is at such an awesome age right now! He knew that there were treats for him in the basket and couldn't wait to tear it apart. He went straight for the plates and took them out to tap on the floor. He liked the sound they made. He took out and examined the pumpkin sippy cups.

Then he took out the envelope and removed the card from inside. (Who knew that we would have a fine motor activity sandwiched in the middle of this!) He handed the card to me to read to him, and I just about melted. What a good boy being interested in the card! I was so thrilled.

After, he took out each book one by one. He was so interested in each and every one, pausing to flip through the pages and exclaim at what was inside. We stopped to read a couple!

He was obsessed with his pumpkin shirt. It was by far his favorite item in the basket. He kept holding it up high in the air, looking at it, and clapping his hands. He handed it to me over and over and then took it back clapping. It was a hit! (Plus, after trying it on him, I think he will fit into it next Halloween too!! Double the investment!)

Lastly, he pulled out the trick or treat bag and the lion costume. 

This was by far the most rewarding basket we ever gave him! He looked at and appreciated every little thing in the basket. We have read each book 4000 times and used the sippys, treat bag, and shirt multiple times! 

He loved it!
