Autumn Sensory Bag

We played with this Autumn Sensory Bag quite a few times this week. I wanted to make something quick, easy, and fall themed for K to play with, but figured he was kind of over sensory bags. I took my chances and filled this bag with:

I taped it to the floor (which always seems to make sensory bags more fun!) and hoped for the best. HE LOVED IT! He splashed and slapped the water and pointed to each leaf and acorn.

We talked about the different fall colors in the bag: red, brown, yellow.

K practiced some gross motor skills by doing some downward dog on top of the sensory bag!

Then we counted each of the leaves about a million times,

sorted them by color, and made patterns - red, brown, yellow, red, brown, yellow...!

We had so much simple sensory fun! :)

  1. Hello! This looks like a great activity! But what kind of bags did you use? I did a sensory bag activity before with double ziplock freezer bags, but eventually after 10-15 minutes of use from the kids, they all started to leak. Also, how much water did you put in?
