Turkey Print Crafts

We made two different turkey print crafts this week. I am in love with both of them, and they now hang proudly from our mantle.

The top one used both Kingston's hand and footprint! I love the look of the mixed mediums. I printed Kingston foot while he was sitting in his high chair. Generally I just stamp his foot while I'm holding him in my arms, but wanted to try and get a really clear print. We used a reddish brown Studio G inkpad for all of our turkey prints. After printing his foot, I traced his hand on a piece of white printer paper and get it out as a template. Then I cut out his footprint, and traced and cut out five handprints using orange and red cardstock. I arranged everything and glued it down. Then added the finishing touches in the form of googly eyes and a small orange beak.

The last print craft we did is the most quintessential print craft ever! I don't think anybody has gone through their entire childhood without making a handprint turkey. This is serious business! Last year, this was Kingston's very FIRST print craft! Imagine? Unfortunately, I gave them away to family members as gifts and don't have any of those tiny 2 month old handprints for myself, but this year Kingston I made one for each of his special family members including Mama and Dada! 

I love the color of the turkeys and how natural they look! Last year we did the rainbow ones. These ones are much more realistic.
