Baby Book Club - January: Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?

I am CRAZY behind on Baby Book Club posts. We have already had our February meeting, and I have yet to post about January. So here it is! For our January meeting, we read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle. This is one of Kingston's absolute favorite books, so I was excited to plan a day around it. We read it at least a few times a day around here!

We had five kiddos at this meeting plus our newest honorary member (yes another one!!) We all gathered around to read the story. The kids were all very familiar with the story, so we had their attention for this one.

After a double feature reading of our story, we got the toddlers ready to do their project. Beforehand, I prepared paper plates with bear faces on them. We went around setting each child up with some brown washable paint so that they could create their very own brown bear paper plate! (see above for picture)

Some of the kiddos used their hands to paint and some used toddler friendly paint brushes

This may be the cutest picture of the day! Sweet little A did NOT want to paint!

After the projects were dry, the mamas glued on googly eyes and construction paper ears and noses that I pre-cut out. The bears all came out so cute!

Once our project was done, it was time for our snack!

This is hands down everyone's favorite part of Baby Book Club! For our themed snack today we had "brown bear brown bears" (Honey Teddy Grahams) and "goldfish golfish" snack crackers (Pepperidge Farm Goldfish). In addition to that, we snacked on yummy Garden Veggie Straws. Everyone dug in! This months snack was definitely a hit.

(Notice my child below feeding his snack to the puppy. That is one well fed dog!)

After we were all cleaned up, the kids had a blast playing together and the grownups snuggled this new BBC cutie!

There was more reading, ball playing, and of course some dancing!

Stay tuned for the next Baby Book Club meeting which should be up soon. We had a Valentine's Day party and read I Love You Through And Through
