For our final project in our "All About Me" theme, we made a collaborative Toddler Biography! I am so excited about this project. Not only is it an awesome keepsake for us, but it is an interactive book that Kingston can read and enjoy.
To create the biography, I used: colored cardstock, sharpies, page protectors , crayons, ink, and washable paint. I bound it with ABC ribbon from Kingston's 1st Birthday Party.
For the first few pages, I included "Toddler Stats", "Toddler Favorites", and "Toddler Quotes", highlighting all of K's fun toddler likes, funny sayings, and statistics. This is the one of my favorite parts, because I know I will love looking back on these things!
I like to turn pictures into coloring pages for Kingston a lot, so I thought it would be really fun for him to color a picture of himself for his book. I created a blank coloring sheet image using IPiccy. You simply upload your picture and turn it into a "Pencil Sketch". He loved coloring himself. I helped him make his hair a vibrant shade of orange/red!
The next part of his book were handprints and footprints. We love print crafts, and there is no better way to capture your little ones tiny features than using ink to get some great prints. We did his hands first, and then I printed his feet. This was my adorable view from the floor as I inked his toes!
After the prints had dried, I numbered them all. Kingston has been really into learning how to count recently, so this was one of the interactive portions of his book. We can sit down and count his fingers and toes together.
The next portion that K was in charge of creating was his "Favorite Color" page. Currently his favorite color seems to be blue, so we used crayons

When he was finished, it was pretty clear what his favorite color is!
For the final page, I filled it with the laminated pictures I created for our Chronological Order Water Play at the beginning of our unit. He can take these out and sort them, look at them, and play with them!
I love how it turned out, and K is already enjoying looking at it. This is the perfect activity to do with your little one to preserve them at a certain age and allow them to collaborate and create something together with you!
This is such a great way to record a child's life. I wish I had done this with my son.
