Kingston is 2!

Kingston has now been 2 years old for over a week. I can't believe it. When I started this blog, K was 4 months old. 4 months. Now he is 2, he has a brother, and life is so much different than it was back then! I can't even begin to describe how much he has grown in this past year. I haven't done in update in so long because the amount he learns every month is OVERWHELMING, but I will try!

Kingston's 2 Year Stats:

Weight: 26 pounds
Height: 34 inches
Clothing Size: 24 months and 2T (thought most of these are super big on him and he can still fit into most of his 18-24 month clothes)
Shoe Size: 6
Favorite Food: Fruit/Veggie pouches, meatballs, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs (as much as that makes me cringe a bit!)
Favorite Drink: He still only drinks water, no milk for him!
Favorite Song: The Wheels on the Bus and this "truck song" that he requests at night and I make up as I go
Favorite Toy: Changes often, but he has a constant love for his vehicles, animals, and anything educational!
Favorite Show: Also changes often! It was the Little Einsteins for much of his second year, but now he is really branching out and loving Dino Dan, Clifford, Super Why and more!
Favorite Movie: Cars

Kingston talks in full sentences now and is putting concepts together more and more every day. I am amazed with the things he knows and comes up with! For instance, today he told me, "Mama pump the boobas!" and brought my breast pump to me. He's too funny! He knows all of his alphabet and colors, as well as most of his numbers and shapes. He is also getting really good at putting his thoughts into words. He can articulate everything that he needs and wants, and politely at that! He can climb into his car seat by himself, go down the stairs (if there is a railing, if not he scoots on his booty), sleeps in a toddler bed, and has been weaned off the boob since 19 months.

Kingston's favorite activities are working on the car with Daddy, riding the tractor with Papa, doing learning activities with Mama, and playing outside. He loves going for long nature walks and playing in the woods. He has forced Mama to become much more of a nature lover, since his enthusiasm is contagious. He loves giving his brother (whom he calls either Jet Lee or Dentley) kisses and hugs and helping out with him whenever he can. He loves holding him, rocking him, and getting his diapers and binky,

Kingston loves playing independently. He prefers to have his toys all to himself over sharing them with friends, though he has gotten close to quite a few other little ones in the past year! He has a VERY strong personality and is pretty demanding. He lets you know exactly what he wants when he wants it, and if you do not comply, he's going to tell you he's angry. Or scream at you. We are working on learning how to deal with our emotions, but as a recently turned 2 year old, that is definitely a work in progress and a constant struggle!

K is a perfectionist and a great helper! He likes everything done just so. I think this will come in handy in the future. It is both a deterrent and an asset to us when we are doing educational activities. It causes him to be incredibly determine, but also makes him frustrated at times.

The best quality about Kingston is how hilarious he is! The way he talks, his attitude, and his amazing personality are definitely unique. He always has us all laughing! Over the past 2 years, he has challenged me in ways I never knew were possible. He continues to make me a better mother every day. I feel so blessed to be this little boy's Mama, and I love him so very much! I am so grateful for his inspiration each and every day. He is the heart behind House of Burke, and I don't know where I'd be without him! I can't wait to see what the next year brings for our little star.

(The pictures above are from Kingston's Mickey Mouse birthday party! I hope to get a detailed post on that up soon!)
