Felt Resist Leaf Art

(This post contains affiliate links.)

Earlier this Autumn, we made several foam resist art projects - Pumpkin Foam Resist Painting and Spooky Night Foam Resist. This project was similar, but a little different in that it used felt! This leaf art was created using this gorgeous Fall Maple Leaves Felt Table Scatter. When I saw it, I knew I wanted to use them in multiple decorative ways this season, but I was also very interested in the outline. It makes such a beautiful leaf shape. Plus, the texture is great soft and fuzzy which makes for a perfect added sensory experience!

To create, I gave Kingston a piece of white cardstock , taped down the felt leaves as well as I could, and poured some red washable paint and orange washable paint on top. Kingston went to work spreading the paint with his fingers. As he painted, we talked about Autumn, falling leaves, and the different colors.

Once the paint dried, I removed the felt leaves which surprisingly washed very well. We were able to save them for reuse which makes this Mama very happy! The leaf art didn't come out perfect, but that adds to the charm. Process art doesn't have to be perfect!  These make fantastic fall window decorations.
