12 Days of Picture Books - Robo-sauce Review

(Affiliate links included for your convenience!)

Have you been following the awesome giveaways and reviews going on over at the Penguin Young Reader's facebook page?  If not, you're missing out! Every day for 12 days, Penguin is giving away copies of some amazing books. Head over to enter now!

he book that we are reviewing today is Robo-Sauce by Adam Rubin (author of the beloved Dragons Love Tacos).

From Penguin: FACT: Robots are awesome. They have lasers for eyes, rockets for feet, and supercomputers for brains! Plus, robots never have to eat steamed beans or take baths, or go to bed. If only there were some sort of magical “Robo-Sauce” that turned squishy little humans into giant awesome robots… Well, now there is.

Giggle at the irreverent humor, gasp at the ingenious fold-out surprise ending, and gather the whole family to enjoy a unique story about the power of imagination. It’s picture book technology the likes of which humanity has never seen!

What We Thought:

Pretty much anything about robots gets a positive review in this house! This book is definitely for older readers. In fact, it's super fun for adults too! Kingston is only 3, but he enjoyed the illustrations and the big poppy robot text inside. He loved repeating the robot sounds as I read. Plus, the book turns INTO a robot ?! Come on! It should be called "AWESOME-SAUCE"! My little guy loves pretending to be a robot, so we could totally relate to the plot. In fact, we would love to mix up a batch of our own robo-sauce!
