So when Kingston accidentally bent a pair of Hubby's sunglasses, I thought that before we threw them away we could do something fun with them. Any old sunglasses will do. In fact, by using washable paint, you could just paint with any pair of inexpensive sunglasses and wash them right off. He seemed to think it was a little weird that there was paint on them (which it was!) and examined them closely. For K, I provided 3 different paintbrushes - a regular bristle brush, a rectangular sponge brush, and a circular sponge brush. I attached it to the back of the paper plate with some glue. Then I attached the large googly eye halfway down the plate, drew a marker mouth and drew an indentation at the top of the whale's head for it's blowhole. I cut out three skinny strips of blue construction paper and folded them accordion style. Then I glued them coming out of the blowhole to simulate water. We have been really into pom pom painting lately. If you haven't tried it, you definitely should! It couldn't be easier to set up, and the fine motor workout is great. He mostly just used the pom pom and clothespin apparatuses as paint brushes. So, it was only natural that we had to get our hands (as well as legs, feet, and faces) messy with some beach themed sensory play.\u0026nbsp;I set up this super simple and inviting sensory dig for K using a starfish and sand dollars. The filler was one of our favorites, colored shaving cream! Mama likes to play with this just as much as K does. We dyed our shaving cream with a combination of blue bath tabs and blue food coloring. The weather was beautiful, so we did our shaving cream dig out on the deck. Better yet, it seems to make everything even cleaner than it was to begin with!
